摘要
The MIST code has been used to model impurity radiation from the edge and core plasmas in ITER. A broad range of parameters have been varied, including Z(eff), impurity species, impurity transport coefficients, and plasma temperature and density profiles. For a set of these parameters representative of the baseline ITER ignition scenario, it is seen that impurity radiation can make a major reduction in divertor power load without compromising core energy confinement. Scalings of impurity radiation with atomic number and machine size are also discussed.
