PARTON DISTRIBUTION-FUNCTIONS AND UHE COSMIC-RAY INTERACTIONS

摘要
This paper presents some preliminary results on the interpretation of UHE cosmic rays taking into account the new parametrizations of the parton distribution functions. The [D-] parametrization, which is in favourable agreement with the recent HERA data, results in a faster development of cosmic-ray showers in the atmosphere with an asymptotic behaviour of UHE collisions dominated by the higher multiplicity; the consequences of the other parametrizations [D0], [B0] and [B-] do not differ from those obtained with conventional simulations.
