摘要
Detailed logging and mineralogical, chemical and organic petrological studies have been made of sub-unit Cc of the Nagoorin oil shale deposit in Queensland. A number of rock types were recognized, including cannel coal, carbonaceous shale, sideritic-carbonaceous shale, claystone and more rarely lamosite. These rock types recur in a number of cycles within the sub-unit and reflect depositional environments ranging from pedogenic to swampy and lacustrine. A typical cycle comprises claystone (sometimes pedogenic) followed by sideritic-carbonaceous shale, carbonaceous shale and/or cannel coal as the swampy conditions were fully established.
