A spectroscopic study of the dynamical state of orientation of diatomic polar molecules in liquid non-polar solvents

摘要
A calculation of the absorption profile of a polar diatomic molecule dissolved in a non-polar solvent is presented. The agreement with experimental data suggests to consider that the dynamical state of orientation of a dissolved simple molecule in a liquid is not able to be represented by a perturbed rotation, nor by a libration. but is intermediate between these two limiting cases.
