INTERROGATIVE SUGGESTIBILITY - FACTOR-ANALYSIS OF THE GUDJONSSON SUGGESTIBILITY SCALE (GSS-2)

The 20 "Yield" and 20 "Shift" items on the parallel form of the Gudjonsson Suggestibility Scale (GSS 2; Gudjonsson, 1987) were factor analysed for 129 Ss and rotated, using the Varimax procedure. As in the case of the original scale (GSS 1; Gudjonsson, 1984), the "Yield" and "Shift" items loaded on separate factors, supporting the view that at least two basic types of interrogative suggestibility exist. The internal consistency for the "Yield 1", "Yield 2" and "Shift" subscales, were 0.87, 0.90 and 0.79, respectively.
