摘要
Various organotin compounds were administered intraperitoneally to rats todetermine whether their toxicity might be related to tissue amine levels. Female Osborne-Mendel rats were given a lethal dose of triethyl-, tributyl- or dibutyltin or a non-lethal dose of tri- or dioctyltin. The noradrenaline and adrenaline levels in the brain, heart and adrenals and the 5-hydroxytryptamine level in brain were determined at varying intervals up to 48 hr after treatment. All of the compounds tested lowered brain and heart noradrenaline levels significantly between 2 and 48 hr, as well as brain 5-hydroxytryptamine between 24 and 48 hr. Heart adrenaline levels were increased by triethyl-, tributyl- and dibutyltin while adrenal adrenaline and noradrenaline levels were significantly reduced. The toxicity of these compounds appeared to parallel the release of catecholamines from the adrenals. © 1969 Pergamon Press Limited.
