摘要
We study the dependence of the correlation functions xi-(r) and 1 + xi-(r) on the intrinsic properties of galaxies and systems of galaxies, as well as on the sample size. The dependence on morphology is shown for both of these functions. The dependence on luminosity appears in the case of early-type galaxies as well as for late-type galaxies; in both cases the correlation functions show a rapid increase at a luminosity limit of about M < -20.0. The correlation functions increase with sample depth; this is a real effect reflecting the luminosity of galaxies and the presence of voids in the distribution of galaxies. The correlation functions 1 + xi-(r) show the presence of self-similar distribution of galaxies in two ranges. At separations r < 3 Mpc the slope of this function is approximately -1.6 to -2.5, reflecting galaxy distribution in groups and clusters and depending on the intrinsic properties of galaxies. At larger distances the slopes of these functions are approximately -0.8 and do not depend on the properties of galaxies. At these distances the functions 1 + xi-(r) reflect the intercluster distribution. This feature is seen up to separations of around 30 Mpc in the largest samples. The crossover between the two distributions takes place at separations of about 3-3.5 Mpc; this is a very stable characteristic, similar for samples of various properties.
