ELECTRON-HOLE SELF-ORGANIZATION AND 2ND HARMONIC-GENERATION IN FIBERS

摘要
A model of electron-hole ordering under light pumping is proposed. Excitation and decay of a Ge-center depends on the space distribution of already excited centers. This correlation results in the creation of a long-lived polarized ordered structure. Polarization and the corresponding static electric field E follow the initial rectified field E0 = chi(3)E2-omega-E*omega-E*omega and are phase matched. As a result, chi(2) = chi(3)E and effective second harmonic generation appears.
