Describes the varied activities of psychologists in a small health maintenance organization in Washington, DC. The roles filled include those of administrator, organizational consultant, patient ombudsman, clinical consultant, teacher, supervisor, researcher, and clinician. Critical incidents descriptive of these roles are presented. It is argued that training in psychology prepares the professional for this diversity of functions.
