ANOMALY OF DISLOCATION-MOTION IN FE-35-PERCENT NI INVAR-ALLOYS

摘要
Plastic deformation of Fe—35%Ni alloys, which have a large volume magnetostriction as the invar property, is studied using samples designed to be deformed mainly by edge dislocations or by screw dislocations. It is found that the screw dislocation in this alloy is able to move more easily than the edge dislocation. This experimental result can be directly explained from the fact that the magnetic frictional stress for an edge dislocation is larger than that for a screw one.
