Rejects the view that his criticism of the views of Bogue and Tsui was in any way an attack on them. He notes that their forecast of future population is now within the low UN range and implies a doubling of world population by the end of the century. The limited explanation of fertility decline by family planning is stressed, but the intellectual case they put forward for family planning programmes is rejected. -J.Clayton
