摘要
The interface strength of TiN coatings on hardened high-speed steel substrates is investigated for the presence of Ti interlayers. The hollow cathode are discharge coated samples are evaluated by the recently introduced differential load feed (DLF) analysis of load-indentation measurements as well as by scratch tests. The highest critical loads of the scratch experiments are determined for the absence of interlayers and evaluate to 62 N. DLF analysis proves the existence of the two-layer systems. Correlations to the scratch test results are obtained if the deformation of the interlayer is considered as part of the total interface deformation.
