Results of a study of 55 male undergraduates indicate: (1) field dependence-independence (FD-FI), as measured by the Rod and Frame Test, is predictive of educational-vocational interest dispelling the notion that FD-FI merely reflects intelligence; and (2) the Guilford-Zimmerman Masculinity-Femininity scale may reflect a rigidity-flexibility or an instrumental-expressive dimension, particularty for FI Ss.
