摘要
The role of gangliosides in preventing neuronal degeneration was examined in a 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP)-induced mouse parkinsonian model. Intraventricular injections of a ganglioside mixture prior to MPTP treatment reduced MPTP's toxicity on tyrosine hydroxylase-positive neurons in the substantia nigra. This raises the interesting possibility that early ganglioside administration may be beneficial in the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders. © 1990.
