Horseradish peroxidase offers the possibility to study the reabsorption and excretion of a protein in micropuncture samples by simple spectrophotometric methods. It allows the correlation of micropuncture experiments with the localization of the protein in the same kidney by cytochemical methods. By combining the micropuncture analysis of HRP with that of inulin and with the quantitative recovery of the nonreabsorbed HRP from the ureter, it should be possible to find the answers to some still unresolved questions.
