ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY OF FRESHWATER GREEN-ALGAE

摘要
Ethanol extracts of 24 spp. of green algae were assayed for activity against growth of bacteria. Fourteen algae exhibited significant inhibitory activity against Staphylococcus aureus or Bacillus subtilis, or both. No extract was inhibitory to Escherichia coli.
