摘要
1. 1. Histidase activity and urocanic acid have been demonstrated in the epidermis of most, but not all, eutherian mammals. 2. 2. The enzyme could not be detected in a variety of amphibian, avian and reptilian species. It was also absent in the one marsupial species tested. 3. 3. It is suggested that the presence of the histidine-to-urocanic acid pathway has significance as an evolutionary change and may be related to the formation of keratohyalin granules. © 1969.
