摘要
The rigid body approximation is used to extend the Glauber formalism to the analysis of inelastic scattering of 1.37 GeV particles by Mg24 and Ni58. Angular distributions for low-lying states in Mg24 and Ni58 are analyzed in this framework together with previously published data for Ca isotopes. Intermediate energy particle scattering is tested as a tool to observe the isoscalar giant quadrupole resonance. Energy weighted sum rules are drawn from the analysis of L=2 angular distributions measured in the proper energy range. Comparison is made with existing data.
