A SOLID POLYMER ELECTROLYTE INTERNAL REFERENCE ELECTRODE FOR HIGH-TEMPERATURE AQUEOUS SYSTEMS

摘要
A description is given of a polymer reference electrode. The performance of the polymer reference electrode was monitored by measuring its potential with respect to a hydrogen electrode immersed in the same environment at the same temperature. All potential measurements were made using a Keithley 617 electrometer having an input impedance of 2 multiplied by 10**1**4 OMEGA . Measurements were performed at 280 degree C, and at pressures up to 1200 psi. The electrode is unaffected by oxidizing (air) and reducing (hydrogen) atmospheres, by pH changes and can be used in an internal mode, thus avoiding the necessity to perform a TLJP correction.
