摘要:
A new undulator is proposed for generating variably polarized radiation. This undulator consists of two pairs of planar permanent magnet arrays above and below the electron orbit plane. The magnetic field of this undulator induces helical or sinusoidal electron orbit motion by shifting the relative positions of pairs of magnet arrays. It leads to the generation of circularly or linearly polarized undulator radiation.
