摘要
Analyzed the effect of frontal ablations and administration of d-amphetamine on the conditioned emotional response (CER) component of response suppression, as distinct from effects on the operant response per se. In Exp. I, lever pressing was superimposed upon preoperant CER conditioning in 90 naive female Holtzman albino rats. It was found that both frontal ablations and d-amphetamine increased resistance to extinction of response suppression. In Exp. II, the CER was superimposed upon the response of running in a wheel in 90 female Holtzman albino rats. It was found that both frontal ablations and d-amphetamine facilitated suppression learning and later performance. Inverted U dose-response curves for d-amphetamine were obtained in both experiments.
