摘要
The kinetic theory of species selection in mixed cultures is presented and verified under laboratory conditions. The theory is based on the J. Monod equation. Suppression of filamentous microorganisms in mixed cultures can be achieved by a selector. The selector forms the initial part of a biological reactor and is characterized by a low value of the dispersion number, desirably below 0. 2, and by an adequate substrate concentration gradient.
