摘要
The inhibition of methanogenesis in anaerobic digestion by extremely low concentrations of chloroform, carbon tetrachloride and methylene chloride was demonstrated. A concomitant accumulation of hydrogen was observed. The results were compared to those of a similar study on rumen methanogenesis and the possible role of extracellular hydrogen as an intermediate in the breakdown of complex substrates by anaerobic digestion is discussed. © 1969.
