A versatile spherical acoustic resonator technique has been used for speed-of-sound measurements and the results reduced to gas-phase ideal gas heat capacity at constant volume for three volatile C-8 compounds (2-methylheptane, ethylcyclohexane and ethylbenzene). Mole fractions of the volatile compounds in argon were varied from 0 to 0.010 under isothermal conditions at various temperatures in the range 298.15-448.15 K. © 1990.
