摘要
The conductance of a quantum dot has been measured as a function of the magnetic field and the size of the dot. The dot was formed by electrostatic depletion in a GaAs/GaAlAs heterostructure and contained approximately 1700 electrons. Measured conductance variations agree with calculated values of a simplified model, where electrons tunnel through the energy levels of an isolated perfectly circular dot. The maximum peak amplitudes in the Fourier power spectra of the magnetoconductance decrease stepwise, with steps at multiples of the Aharonov-Bohm frequency f = eA/h, where A is the dot area.
