摘要
Coherent optical detection applicability to a photonic wavelength-division (WD) and time-division (TD) hybrid switching system is examined for enlarging switching capacity. Wavelength switching time is 1.8 ns and wavelength is stably retained after as wide as 3-4 Å wavelength switching. These results suggest the switching feasibility for over 20 ch (TD 4 ch, WD ∼6 ch) for 100 Mb/s signals. This channel number can be increased to 256 ch (WD 64 ch), considering the maximum wavelength sweep range (40 Å) of wavelength tunable laser diodes (LD's) obtained so far. © 1990 IEEE
