TERMINAL ALKYNES AS A SOURCE OF CARBONYL-ALKYL AND CARBONYL-ACYL BIPYRIDYL RUTHENIUM COMPLEXES

摘要
Protonation of (N N)2Ru(CO3) with aqueous HPF6 followed by reaction with terminal alkynes gives (N N)2Ru(CO)(CH2R)+PF6- [N N = 2,2′-bpy; R = H, t-Bu, Ph; N N = bpy {black star} = 4,4′-di-t-Bu-2,2′-bpy; R = Ph]. Reaction of (bpy)2Ru(CO3) with propargyl bromide in water in the presence of HPF6 yields (bpy)2Ru(CO)(Br)+PF6-, whereas reaction of (bpy {black star})2Ru(CO3) with HPF6 and trimethylsilylacetylene in ethanol-water affords (bpy {black star})2Ru(CO)(OH2)2+(PF6-)2. Use of propiolic acid results in the unexpected formation of (N N)2Ru(CO)(COCH3)+PF6-. © 1990.
