摘要
The copper catalysed leaching of synthetic magnetite in aqueous sulfur dioxide solutions was investigated at 50°C. Both aquated and acetonitrile cuprous species were the active catalytic species enhancing the leach rate up to a factor of five. Mechanisms for the uncatalysed and catalysed processes are presented. The main feature of the copper catalysed mechanism for the dissolution of synthetic magnetite is the electron transfer between Cu+ and a surface Fe species. The electron transfer process is proposed to proceed through an inner sphere mechanism in which the surface hydroxyl ligand functions as a bridging ligand between the surface Fe and the Cu+ reductant species. © 1979.
