Nature of a resonant system consisting of two masses connected with an electromechanical feedback device is examined, and a possibility of constructing a low-noise antenna for gravitational radiation based on this system is discussed. It is shown that antennas of this kind could have a smaller thermal noise compared with solid-body antennas, while the transducer noise is comparable for both of them. The proposed system would extend the frequency region of resonant detectors below 10 Hz. © 1979 The Japan Society of Applied Physics.
