Only one specific-heat anomaly was found in DyFeO3 in the range 1.2°-80°K, although two magnetic transitions have been reported in the literature. This λ-type anomaly at TN = 3.7°K is attributed to a magnetic ordering of the Dy3+ spin system. The magnetic and lattice contribution to the specific heat have been separated, finding θD = 390°±7°K. © 1968 The American Institute of Physics.
