SOLUBILITY OF CHLOROFLUOROCARBON-113 IN WATER AND SEAWATER

The solubilities of dilute mixtures of the trichlorotrifluorethane CFC-113 in pure water and seawater over the temperature range -0.89 to 39.59 degrees C were measured by gas chromatography. The data were fitted by an equation in temperature and salinity of the form used previously to describe the solubilities of other gases. The deviation from the fitted curve is +/- 1.5% and the average precision of replicate measurements at each temperature and salinity is similar to 1.2%.
