The photo-ionization of pi-electrons from O-2

摘要
Calculations are presented for the states of O-2(+) arismg from the configuration center dot center dot center dot(pi(u))(3)(pi(g))(2). These lead to an understanding of the absence of significant ionization of O-2 to the A,(2)Pi(u) state of O-2(+) with 21.21 eV photons. A new state of O-2(+) observed by Price with 304 angstrom radiation and corresponding to an ionization energy of approximate to 23.7 eV, 1S assigned to the uppermost (2)Pi(u) state of this configuration.
