摘要
Absolute absorption and photoionization coefficients of CS2 have been measured in the 600-970-Å region. A 1-m radius Seya-Namioka-type scanning vacuum-ultraviolet monochromator was used with the Hopfield helium continuum source as a background and with photoelectric detection of the dispersed radiation. A number of peaks in both the absorption and photoionization spectra were observed at wavelengths that agree well with a higher resolution photographic spectrum. The total continuum underlying the band structure has been estimated as well as the fraction due to absorption and to ionizations. Fluorescence was observed when the wavelength of the incident radiation was shorter than 976.5 Å. A brief discussion of its origin is given.
