摘要
For 20 years purchasing managers have been challenged to view their function from a more proactive and strategic perspective. Certainly, a great deal of senior management attention has been focused on the firm's procurement related activities in an attempt to gain competitive advantage. Yet, the challenge has become more acute as firm's face greater competitive pressures. Companies must learn to adjust to what has been labeled 'the new competition'. This paper outlines the components of the new competition and discusses the implications for purchasing professionals seeking to support their business strategy.
