摘要
In order to understand the formation of rolling textures in Cu–30Zn it is necessary to consider the deformation modes which operate at different levels of cold reduction. This has involved a combination of optical microscopy, high-voltage electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction techniques. There are three essential mechanisms, namely slip, twinning, and shear banding, which are mutually interactive. An evolutionary theory of rolling-texture development which refines and extends existing concepts by incorporating detailed information about the microstructure of the cold-worked state is described. © 1979, The Metals Society.
