摘要
The effect of particle size, particle shape and degree of agglomeration on the modulus of filled resin has been studied. At the same volume fraction, a higher modulus was achieved with non-regularly shaped sand rather than with glass beads. The relatively higher modulus for the sand filled resin can be attributed to larger degrees of heterogeneity associated with high degrees of agglomeration at low volume fractions. The narrowly distributed sand composites showed a better correlation to the modified law of mixtures, I equation of Paul. © 1990.
