摘要
Performed 3 experiments, each with 6 naive male guinea pigs, dealing with habituation of the optokinetic response (OKR) and the rebound effect brought about by sudden reversals of the optokinetic drum. These phenomena have previously occurred in turtles. The S exhibits no habituation of OKR either over days or trials, using a variety of procedures. Rebound effects are easily obtained, however. It was suggested that restraint has different effects in guinea pig and turtle, possibly preventing habituation in the former. Differences in the visual systems of the 2 species are probably responsible for the differences in the rebound effects.
