VALIDITY OF RPA APPROXIMATION IN A SOLVABLE 2-MODE MONOPOLE MODEL

摘要
The validity of the RPA and second-order perturbation theory approach for the energies is examined by comparison with the exact solution of a two-vibrational-modes model. It is found, for the investigated region of the parameters, that the use of phenomenological single-particle energies in the RPA matrix is crucial for making the approximation good. Results of the perturbation-theory approach are found comparable to the RPA ones. © 1968.
