摘要：

The method of collocation is used to obtain dispersion curves for wave propagation in infinite elastic bars of elliptical cross-section. In this method the exact solutions of the elastic wave equations in cylindrical polar co-ordinates are forced to satisfy the stress-free boundary conditions approximately. Results, accurate to four decimal places, are obtained for the first two branches of each of the four modes of wave propagation in elliptical bars with various ellipticities. © 1969.
