THE STRUCTURE OF AMORPHOUS ANODIC OXIDE-FILMS ON ALUMINUM

摘要
Amorphous anodic oxide films were formed on the 99.99 or 99.9% purity aluminum specimen in a 15 wt% sulphuric acid bath at 20 °C with constant applied potential of 10 V for 2 or 20 sec. The short range order (SRO) structures of these films were obtained through a radial distribution function (RDF) method from their transmission electron diffraction (TED) or reflection electron diffraction (RED) haloed patterns. The SRO structure is not similar to that of γ-Al2O3 and of any related crystals but to that of air-formed oxide films or electropolished aluminum. © 1990.
