INTERACTIONS OF POLY(1,3-DIOXOLANE) AND SODIUM DODECYL-SULFATE

摘要
The interactions between poly(1,3-dioxolane) and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) were studied by conductimetry, viscosimetry, and fluorescence and compared to the results obtained for polyethyleneoxide (PEO). It was shown that SDS is bound onto the polymer chain in the form of smaller micelles (aggregation number around 13, instead of 35 for PEO). In addition, the total number of SDS molecules bound is smaller. The results can be interpreted in terms of an equilibrium model although the K(mic) and K(comp) constants are only apparent values for both polymers. (C) 1994 Academic Press, Inc.
