OXIDE ION CONDUCTION IN HIGHLY ELECTRONIC CONDUCTORS BASED ON SRMNO3-DELTA

摘要
Several kinds of perovskite-type oxide based on SrMnO3-delta were prepared by solid state reaction. Generally these oxides were highly electronic conductors. In order to investigate the oxide ion conductivity of these materials, an electrochemical cell was constructed: (+) Ag/sample/pure oxide ion conductor/Ag (-), in which electronic current was partially blocked. The oxide ion conductivity was calculated from the amount of oxygen generated from the sample on application of the electric field. As a result, the sintered oxides, SrMnO3-delta, SrMn(1-x)Co(x)O3-delta and Sr(1-x)Na(x)MnO3-delta were found to show comparatively high oxide ion conductivities and the method was confirmed to be effective to measure oxide ion conductivity in the highly conductive electronic conductors.
