TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENCE OF THE COLLISIONAL DEACTIVATION OF I(2P1/2) BY I2 AND O2 FROM 300-K TO 600-K

摘要
The collisional deactivation of excited iodine atoms I(5p5 P-2(1/2)) by I2 and O2 has been studied as a function of temperature from 295 to 600 K. The decay of the excited iodine atom concentration following dye laser photolysis of molecular I2 was detected by time-resolved fluorescence at 1.315 mum. The temperature dependence of quenching rate constants by molecular I2 and O2 was found to be weak over this range.
