SELF-CONSISTENT CALCULATION OF THE COLLECTIVE EXCITATIONS IN NEUTRAL AND CHARGED JELLIUM MICROSPHERES

摘要
The time-dependent local-density approximation is used to compute the dynamic response of small jellium spheres. These spheres provide a model system for the investigation of the response of the conduction electrons in small alkali-metal clusters. The dipolar collective modes - surface and bulk - are computed for neutral and charged spheres with closed-shell configurations.
