摘要
An iridium-based mercury-plated microelectrode was developed and its preparation and the deposition of mercury on very small iridium discs (1-20-mu-m) were investigated. These electrodes have been shown to give analytically reproducible results and may be used to determine trace metals at nM concentration levels in low-ionic-strength media such as lake water. Intermetallic interactions known to impede measurements with platinum, gold and silver electrodes were shown not to occur with these iridium based-microelectrodes.
