A RAPID METHOD FOR ORTHOPHOSPHATE ANALYSIS AT HIGH CONCENTRATIONS IN WATER

A variation of the Murphy and Riley (1962) method is proposed, in which the calibration graph is linear over the whole concentration range investigated. The range was extended past the limits of the method of Edwards et al. (1965), by increasing the amount of antimony added. A condensed phosphate was shown to exhibit only minimal interference. An organic phosphate also showed only a minor effect but labile, phosphorus-containing compounds showed a relatively large (10 per cent) interference. © 1969.
