STRUCTURAL ORIGIN OF HOLES IN THE TL-O SINGLE ROCK-SALT LAYER SUPERCONDUCTOR TLSRLACUO5, TLSRNDCUO5

摘要
On the basis of tight-binding band electronic structure calculations, we examined why TlSrRCuO5 (R = La, Nd) is a superconductor while its analog TlBaRCuO5 and its homolog TlSrRCaCu2O7 are not. Our study strongly suggests that, for a TlO single rock-salt layer phase with very short in-plane CuO distance such as TlSrRCuO5, the CuO2 layer x2-y2 band is raised high enough in energy for the TlO layer to create holes in the CuO2 layer. © 1991.
