摘要
Thin-layer chromatographic and thin-layer electrophoretic methods are described for the separation of compounds in the vitamin B6 group and some common metabolites. Several solvent systems and silica gel or cellulose were used, giving compact spots and permitting reliable determination of these compounds. Enhanced separation can be achieved through the application of boric acid in certain situations. The preparation and use of various spray reagents is discussed with respect to their specificity and sensitivity. The ready photodecomposition of pyridoxal phosphate introduces complications. The two main photolysis products have been identified. Multiple spots can be readily avoided by excluding light during chromatography. © 1969.
