摘要
High resolution electron energy loss measurements of acetic acid chemisorption on copper (100) have been made. We detect the formation of acetate species, bound to the copper surface via the oxygen atoms. The asymmetric stretching mode (νa(COO)) of the acetate group is very weak due to screening by the image dipole in the metal. © 1979.
