Effect of High Pressure on the Lattice Parameters of Al(2)O(3)

摘要：

The effect of pressure to 300 kbar has been measured on the lattice parameters of Al(2)O(3). Corundum has a rhombohedral unit cell and is relatively incompressible (similar to 9% in 300 kbar). Perhaps the most intersting feature involves an increase of the rhombohedral angle of about 0.5 degrees over this pressure range.
